Syrup

Written by a self-proclaimed “survivor [of] the trenches of corporate marketing,” SYRUP is a humorous novel about ideas – more specifically, about making money from them. The cynical, tongue-in-cheek amusement of SYRUP arises from its interesting twist on the marketing industry, and its survival-of-the-most-diligent story line.
Entertainment aside, there is professional and intellectual value to this book, especially for anyone involved in marketing and/or marketing strategy.
Lesson: Do the Basics Well
- Be very aware of marketing trends in society and in your industry. The better you understand both your consumer market and your industry, the greater advantage you have.
- How many good ideas do you have a year, and what do you do with them? According to Scat, the main character of the novel, everyone has at least one million-dollar idea per year. What most people lack is follow-through.
